Skipper (Tirtyl)

How an eco-friendly soap brand grew from zero to $655K with a 4.1× MER on Meta.

Skipper, formerly Tirtyl, sells eco-friendly soap, the kind of product people reorder. We ran their customer acquisition on Meta, from the presale phase through their early growth. Meta brought the sales, at a 4.1× MER.

We started from zero and we're now at 6-figure a month. Overall… 5 stars.

Where they started

Founded in 2020 by May Bandi and Lachlan Hill, Skipper set out to change how people buy hand soap in Australia. Most people still buy soap in the supermarket, so getting them to try a new brand online takes real trust. We came in during their presale and ran Meta as the channel that brought in the sales.

What we did

Our job was acquisition on Meta, and making it pay.

  • Ran Meta from the presale phase, where it brought in the first sales
  • Built the Meta creative around the switch from supermarket soap to a new brand online, the hardest part of the sell
  • Scaled spend on Meta while keeping it profitable, reaching a 4.1× MER

They grew enough to take it in-house

The acquisition worked, and Skipper kept growing. In time they built their own in-house marketing team and brought the work internal. We see that as a win, since it means the brand had grown to the point where it could run its own engine.

Soap runs out and gets reordered. Good acquisition brings those customers in profitably. For a business built on reorders, retention on top is what makes it really strong.
